KIT @ Intersolar and ees Europe 2017

Within the scope of the BMWi-funded project „SafetyFirst“, Li-ion home storage systems are being tested in a comparative study – especially in the areas of safety, performance and the degree to which they support and stabilize the grid. At the booth, the latest research results of the comparative tests will be shown, where one focus will be on efficiency. Regarding the latter, the BVES and BSW Solar published a guideline for the efficiency of home storage systems in March 2017. Besides long-term measurements, the systems are also being tested according to the guideline. Besides, recent research results of the solar power storage park with regards to maximization of photovoltaic self-consumption.

Special exhibit „Smart Renewable Energy“

At Intersolar Europe, the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) together with the German Aerospace Center (DLR) and the Forschungszentrum Jülich (FZJ) present the Helmholtz infrastructure Energy Lab 2.0 at the special exhibit “Smart Renewable Energy”. In this real-life laboratory, the interlinkage of different components of the smart, interlinked energy system of the future will be investigated. Competence E participates in this project with a large-scale battery storage system with an innovative cooling concept and cost-optimized design.
